Raja Ampat of Banyuwangi Is Getting More Popular with Tourists

The tourist destination located in Pancer Hamlet, Sumberagung Village, Pesanggaran District, Banyuwangi, East Java, continues to show an upward trend in tourist visits.
Based on data from the Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), the increase in visits has been quite significant.
During the 2024 Christmas and New Year holiday period, 3,937 tourist visits were recorded through the Pantai Mustika access point. That number rose sharply to 9,181 tourists during the 2025 Christmas and New Year holiday.
“Tourist visits during the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holiday increased by 133 percent compared with the previous year,” said Ainur Rofiq, Head of Marketing at the Banyuwangi Culture and Tourism Office, on Monday, January 26.
Bedil Island has captivated tourists with its exotic cluster of small islands. The island is also surrounded by clear waters with shades of turquoise blue to green, resembling the karst scenery of Piaynemo in Papua.
In addition, this hidden destination offers stunning natural views, calm lagoons for snorkeling, and stretches of natural white sand that create a peaceful and exotic atmosphere.
According to Ainur Rofiq, the increase in tourists visiting Bedil Island did not happen by chance. The Banyuwangi Regency Government’s intensive digital promotion, especially through social media, along with improvements to supporting infrastructure, have been major driving factors.
Meanwhile, the beauty of Pantai Mustika, which serves as the main entry point, also adds to visitors’ comfort. The combination of natural scenery, the friendliness of local residents, culinary MSME vendors, and supporting facilities such as toilets and prayer rooms makes visitors want to stay longer.
