Partnership and Collaboration
To achieve conservation and sustainable natural resources management goals, the Raja Ampat MPAs Management Authority must collaborate with stakeholders from different government branches, the private sector, NGOs, communities, and visitors.
JUARA Kami Partners
JUARA Kami, literally translated as "Our CHAMPS," is an initiative developed with local businesses from homestays, resorts, liveaboards, to community groups and customary figures, which championed collaborative management of Raja Ampat MPAs.
That collaboration is unique to each party's role and capacity. For example, homestay owners who strongly encourage their guests to pay the entrance fee directly support the management of Raja Ampat MPAs. In return, we would support them to develop their businesses by providing much-needed equipment.
This collaboration model aims to sustainably increase MPAs' management effectiveness, while developing our stakeholders' roles and capacities in the long term.
