Resources Use Monitoring
In each patrol, the Jaga Laut Team is responsible for documenting all data and information related to resource use, primarily in the fisheries and tourism sectors.
Those data and information covered, but not limited to, fishermen's data, inspecting fishing vessels' permits, fishing gears used, fishing targets, bycatches, and indications of Illegal, Unreported, Unregulated (IUU) Fishing.
Jaga Laut also monitors tourism activities within an MPA, including inspecting tourism vessel permits, confirming numbers of tourists, locations, and tourism activities, collecting waste, and observing sightings of focal species such as sharks and rays, turtles, and marine mammals.
